Rear guns on Fairmile C Motor Gun Boat
Here we see the rear guns on a on Fairmile C Motor Gun Boat operating in 'E boat alley' - the danger zone within S-Boat range of German occupied ports (the original wartime caption mistakenly says this was a forward view). The gun at the stern is probably a QF 2-poundr Mark XIV (Rolls 2 pounder), originally designed by Rolls Royce as an aircraft weapon, but that was more often used on small naval launches.
The smaller guns near the camera are twin mounted Vickers .50 Mk. III machine guns.
